The design of female characters in fighting games, specifically their choice of….. Attire, has always seemed completely impractical to me. So much so, that it seemed a worthy subject for a song. Also, we managed to work the term “Bechdel test” into a pop song. Not sure if that’s been done before. While the song has a very 80s breakbeat feel to it, the vocal was very much inspired by Pharrell Williams. The sax parts were actually cut by my dad while I was in New Jersey during a two week break in December. Both of us happened to have a free day on which we were able to book 2 hours of studio space, so we packed a few of my dad’s horns, got in the car, and drove to west New York to track, in what was a relatively Easy and enjoyable session.
